Truth & trust
Long-term relationships built on transparency. We tell you what we found, what it needs, and what it doesn't. It's why some customers have stayed with us for more than 40 years.
Conditioned Air is the oldest heating and air conditioning company in Middle Georgia. Three generations of Macon families have trusted us with their comfort — many for 40 years and counting. Here's how that happened.
In 1938, Albert W. McKay opened Conditioned Air, Inc. in Macon, Georgia, and grounded it on three things: integrity, expertise, and service. Air conditioning was still a luxury then — Mr. McKay was selling comfort to a town that mostly cooled itself with shade trees and ceiling fans. He won customers the slow way: tell the truth, do the work right, and stand behind it.
On his wall, Mr. McKay kept Rotary's Four-Way Test — four questions he applied to every job, every invoice, and every handshake. Almost nine decades later, the test still hangs over everything we do.
Albert W. McKay Jr., an Emory University graduate, joined the company in 1975 and led it for decades — carrying his father's standard of operational excellence into a business that now serves homes, storefronts, churches, schools, plants, and offices across Middle Georgia. Customers who signed on in the 1980s are still on our schedule. Their kids — and grandkids — call the same number.
Today, Conditioned Air is a FirstCall company — part of a national network of leading regional mechanical contractors. The family values didn't go anywhere: the same local team answers the phone, and the same standards govern the work. What changed is what's behind us — engineering depth, a national parts pipeline, and surge capacity when Middle Georgia needs it.
Our founder kept Rotary's Four-Way Test prominently displayed. Before anything we think, say, or do — four questions:
The Four-Way Test isn't a poster for us — it's an operating manual. Here's how each question shows up on your invoice and in your mechanical room.

We bill for the work actually performed — honest, transparent invoicing, so you pay for exactly what your system needed and nothing more. Fair to you, fair to us.
Macon is home — has been since 1938. We invest in quality workmanship and we stand behind every completed project, because we'll see you at church, at the ballgame, and at the next service call.
We examine your equipment thoroughly and recommend the most appropriate remedy for your situation — the right fix, not the biggest ticket. If a $40 part solves it, that's what we sell you.
